Lately I’ve been writing in my journal more than I have been writing blog posts or interacting on social media platforms.
I think this has been due to the self inquiry I’ve been craving.
I find myself leaning into self study but still not necessarily feeling fulfilled in my self exploration. I wonder why I feel this sense of lacking and unfulfillment. It could be the lack of answers or the inability to integrate this newfound information into my actions.
But perhaps when I have more outward engagement with the world, when I am able to connect with others in a way that feels helpful, it invites an opportunity to tap in to service to others. Service to others is a concept I have been coming across as I am expanding my spiritual teachings, it focuses on the aspect of how service to others feels good for us. It feels even better to give to someone else than to consume for ourselves sometimes. Have you ever regretted volunteering or helping someone out? Or does it tend to give you a boost of joy, fulfillment, maybe even you have the desire to do it again.
I think time alone is always important, time spent going inward, filling your cup, investing in yourself with knowledge through reading or moving the body.
Yet I also think time spent helping, engaging, and connecting to others is equally (if not more) important. We have lost the deeper integrated sense of community, of neighborly-ness. We are increasingly disconnected from others due to the watered down outlet of sending a text or calling later. People feel more indispensable, and we can outsource whatever we need from the internet rather than making a connection to someone who we know can provide us a need.
Sure amazon is great and being able to get things whenever you need them is spectacular, what a world of ease we live in now. We used to connect to people in our community for advice rather than a bot that claims to help or therapize you.
But perhaps we are missing a vital piece of life as an interconnected organism - relying on a community.

This has turned into a bit of an aimless rant, but regardless of what this passage meant to you, I ask you to turn outward to others in some fashion.
Compliment a stranger. Trade baked goods with a friend. Make time to have tea and chat with someone you love. Feel the abundance and gratitude for when you are around people, because it is never promised that they will always be there. Savor connection, whether it be a simple trip to the farmers market to appreciate a local individuals craft or giving someone you love an extra long hug, try to connect through a place of love and kindness.

Yours truly, with deep gratitude that I am able to connect with others through a platform, sharing my thoughts, hopes and dreams,
Paige
